March 28, 1921 — June 20, 2009

Robert W. Rogers, 88, of Owensboro, Kentucky, died Saturday, June 20, 2009, at Heritage Place. He was a member of Wesleyan Heights United Methodist Church, was a Chief Park Ranger for the National Park Service for 35 years, graduated from the University of Washington, and served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. Mr. Rogers was an avid stamp collector, wood worker and square dance caller. He enjoyed a good joke, making people laugh and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine McElvain Rogers, his parents, Robert W. and Faye Riste Rogers, and his sisters, Rosalie Linden and Marna West.

Survivors include his children; Joan Mundt of Linneus, MO, Linda Minton and her husband Rayburn of Owensboro, and Larry Rogers and his wife Janet of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; a brother, Richard N. Rogers of Seattle, WA; a sister, Lois Luce of WA; grandchildren, Brian Roberts, Timothy Roberts, Andrew Roberts, Brenton Mundt, Becky Brummett, Steve Szefi, Lindsay Rogers and Kimberly Rogers; and six great grandchildren.

Services will be held on Tuesday at noon in the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until noon on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Wesleyan United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
