Robert Earl Renfrow

Robert Earl (Bob) Renfrow, 87, of Owensboro, passed away November 3, 2009, at Owensboro Medical Health System. Born August 19, 1922 in Ohio County to the late George W. and Beulah Sapp Renfrow, he joined the U. S. Navy in 1942 and served in the South Pacific during World War II. After leaving the Navy he became a certified Electrician and retired from Dynalectric after 40 years of service. He was a charter member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local # 1701. Mr. Renfrow was also a farmer, enjoyed woodworking, gardening, golf and cheering for the Kentucky Wesleyan College Basketball Team. He was a staunch supporter and member of the Kentucky Wesleyan Panther Express. He was an active member of Wesleyan Heights United Methodist Church, where he served faithfully. An avid golfer, he was also a member the Windridge Country Club. Bob was a very kind, gentle, loving and caring husband, step dad, and friend who enjoyed spending time with Buddy, his dog and all his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Barry Keith Pagan; a brother, Milford E. (Jack) Renfrow; and step father, Everett Heifner.

Surviving are his devoted wife, Alice Miller Renfrow, his stepchildren, Dr. David Pagan and Denise of Spottsylvania, Virginia and Susan and Jerry Nail of Brentwood, Tennessee; 12 step grandchildren; 8 step great grandchildren; sister-in -law, Dorothy Renfrow of Utica, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at noon, Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Timo Karvonen and Rev. Dr. Jay Smith, in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Entombment will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens where military honors will be rendered. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday, and after 10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons International or Wesleyan Heights United Methodist Church.
