Robert Douglas Raley

Robert D. "Bob" Raley, 76, of Owensboro passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born on March 30, 1936 in Hancock Co., KY to the late Thomas and Mary Doug (Chambers) Raley. Bob was a member of Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church, was a U. S. Air Force veteran, and a graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College. He was retired as Human Resources Manager with Peabody Coal Co. and also from the General Electric Co. He was a member of the American Legion and had been a Scout Master with the Boy Scouts of America. He also had coached Babe Ruth baseball and American Legion baseball. He loved U.K. basketball, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, and playing several instruments, especially the banjo. He was also preceded in death by an uncle, Paul Rice.

Surviving are his wife, Judy Raley, a son, Thomas Raley of Clarksville, TN, two daughters, Rhonda R. Marsh of Hawesville and Martha Mahoney and husband Bob of Prattville, AL, a stepdaughter, Wendy Coleman and husband Rodney of Madisonville, two stepsons, Andrew Jerome and wife Marissa of Madisonville and Will Jerome and wife Amanda of Owensboro, 14 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and his special black Labrador Retriever, Eb.

Services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 1, at Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 10:30 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
