Bob "The Barber" Pride
Robert Alan Pride, 67, of Pleasant Ridge, passed away on Monday, April 30, 2012 at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville. He was born on October 19, 1944 in Daviess Co., IN to the late Hilbert and Juanita (Hayes) Pride. Bob had been a barber for 49 years and was the owner of Prides Barber Shop. He was a member of Wing Ave. Baptist Church. Bob was a Mustang enthusiast and was a member of the Crazy Horse Mustang Club. He was also a member of the All-American Club at Kentucky Wesleyan College and had been one of several people that organized the Car Show that they sponsored every year. He was an avid collector of antique barber shop memorabilia, enjoyed traveling and taking pictures, and making people laugh. He had also served in the Army Reserves.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Toni Pride, his son, Mark and wife Becky Pride of Spurgeon, IN, a grandson, Joshua (Kristin) Pride, two step grandchildren, Elizabeth and Wayne Wedding, and a great granddaughter, Trinity Pride, all of Spurgeon, and two brothers, Royce Pride of Panama City Beach, FL and Jerry Pride of Wheatland, IN.
Services will be 12 Noon Friday, May 4, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday and after 10:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
