Robert E. "Ozzie" Osborne, 84, of Owensboro, formerly of Louisville, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2016. He was born January 8, 1931 in Dayton, Ohio to the late John Edgar and Royce Shaw Osborne. He was retired and the former owner and operator of the Osborne Cleaners in Louisville. He was a member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church where he enjoyed preparing and cooking the Wednesday night meals. Ozzie enjoyed bird hunting, riding and showing his horses, was an avid rose gardener, and cooking and delivering cookies to family and friends. He had attended Western Kentucky University where he played football and enjoyed volunteering as an assistant manager with the Owensboro Catholic High School football team during the 2011 and 2012 seasons. Ozzie referred to himself as the "Oldest Waterboy" in the state of Kentucky.
Ozzie was also preceded in death by his wife Nancy C. Osborne on February 20, 2011 and his daughter, Ann C. Osborne on May 29, 1967.
Surviving are his son, David "Oz" Osborne and wife Connie of Owensboro, three grandchildren, Candace Arnold and husband Matt, Ann C. Osborne, and Chandler Osborne, all of Owensboro, four great grandchildren, Molly, Payton, Lyla, and Elly Arnold, all of Owensboro, and a brother, Thomas Osborne and wife Diane of Louisville.
The Service will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday at Owensboro Christian Church where visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. Thursday.
