Robert Thomas McFarland

Robert Thomas McFarland, 70, of Leitchfield, formerly of Owensboro, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at the Heartford House. He was born on September 10, 1944 in Frankfort, KY to the late Monte and Ruth Lee McFarland. Robert was retired from Allstate Insurance Co. as an agent and was a member of Third Baptist Church. He had served in the Army Reserves and was a graduate of Georgetown College in Georgetown, KY. He was an avid U.K. sports fan, enjoyed going to Rough River and boating, raising his roses, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Hill McFarland on November 7, 2009.

Surviving are his children, Scott McFarland of Owensboro, Mark McFarland and wife Megan of Versailles, and Manda Joyce and husband Matthew of Nashville, TN, seven grandchildren, Emma, Mayes, and Grayson McFarland, all of Owensboro, Jay Thomas, Chandler, and Avery McFarland, all of Versailles, and H. McFarland "Mac" Joyce of Nashville, three brothers, Dr. James McFarland of Boston, MA, Donald McFarland of Owensboro, and Ronald McFarland of Atlanta, GA, and a sister, Virginia Covington of Jonesboro, AR.

Services will be 12 Noon Monday, October 13, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Dr. James Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-5:00 P.M. Sunday and after 11:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.
