Robert E. "Bob" Lyons

Robert E. "Bob" Lyons, 72, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Mr. Lyons was born July 18, 1946 in Daviess County to the late Robert E. Lyons and Emogene Rice. Bob graduated from OHS in 1964 and attended Kentucky Wesleyan College. He worked for UPS and then obtained his real estate license in 1978. For the next 40 years, Bob served many families in this area to buy and sell their homes. He enjoyed to hunt and fish and drag race cars. All who knew Bob could attest that he was one of the most friendly, outgoing people they ever met. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory include his ten children; Sean, Beau (Jennifer), Brian, Cory, Lyons, and Dawn Lyons-Taylor (Michael) all of Owensboro, Nathan (Amanda), Jordon (Kayla), Amy Lyons, and Katherine Lanzone (Andrew) all of Louisville, Tim (Julie) Lyons of Ft. Worth; his loving partner of 50 years, Mary Kay Lyons; thirteen grandchildren, Haley Withrow (Joe), Cole, Lexie, Lauren, Lynsie, Thomas, Mallory, Corbyn, Layla, and Alayna Lyons, Kane Monday, Harper and Charlie Lanzone; great grandchildren, Beckham and Liam Withrow; sister Sharon Carmine; many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Bob Lyons will be 2:00 pm Friday, November 9 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will be from 10:00 am till 2:00 pm. Rev. Donnie Thomas will officiate. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
