Robert L Lafond

Robert L. Lafond Sr., 83, of Owensboro, passed away January 31, 2019 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born September 9, 1935 to the late Armond and Marianna Caplette Lafond in New Bedford, MA. Robert served in the United States Army as a paratrooper. He loved puzzles, basketball, and rides in his car to the river.

Robert was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Ann Lafond; and sister, Lorraine Reed.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sharon Lafond; sons, Bobby (Chris) Lafond Jr., and Todd (Cindy) Lafond; brothers, Lucien Lafond, of Tuscon, AZ, Donald Lafond of Acushnet, MA, and Roland Lafond, of Owensboro; sisters, Rita Meehan of Derry, NH and Lucille DeCostas of Dartmouth, MA; grandchildren, Kennedy, Kassidy, Jill, Jared, and Adam; and a great grandchild, Jae.

The funeral service will be 2pm, Monday, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Entombment will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10am until 2pm on Monday.
