Robert Lewis Kennedy, 79, of Owensboro passed away Friday, April 3, 2009 at the Beaver Dam Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Daviess County on August 1, 1929, Mr. Kennedy was the son of the late John L. and Mary Emma Carrico Kennedy; was a retired painter; and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing the guitar. He was preceded in death by brothers, Jesse, Virgil and Joseph Kennedy and sisters, Roberta Kennedy and Mary Ruth Hurm.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Elsie Mae Foster Kennedy; step-children, Janna Mattingly of Bellevue, NE and Terry Mattingly of Oklahoma City, OK; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2009 at Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Glenn Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
