Robert A. Jones

Robert A. Bobby Jones, 72, of 3942 Jefferson Street, Owensboro, Kentucky, died Thursday, April 10, 2003, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. He was born in Logan County, IL on October 12, 1930. A son, Charles R. Jones, preceded him in death November 1, 2000.

Mr. Jones retired from the Owensboro Post Office in 1986 as a letter carrier. He was a veteran of the Air Force served in the Korean War, was a member of Immaculate Catholic Church, was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Travelers Protection Association, and enjoyed fishing, gardening and camping.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mattie-Martha Jones, two sons, David A. Jones and Brent Jones, both of Owensboro; a sister, Ruth Payne also of Owensboro; four grandsons and two granddaughters.

Graveside services will be held in Christ Chapel, Owensboro Memorial Gardens, Saturday, April 12, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. There will be no visitation.
