Robert M. Jarboe, 79, of Maceo, died Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at his home. He was born in Daviess County, January 29, 1933, to the late James and Jessie (Speaks) Jarboe. Robert was retired from Laborers Union Local # 1392 and TVA. He was a Veteran of the Korean War and received the Purple Heart, member of VFW, American Legion, AmVets and DAV. He was a Mason and member of Ensor Lodge F& AM, a Kentucky Colonel, and member of Maceo Baptist Church. Robert was an avid NASCAR and horse racing fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by a brother, James William Jarboe and sister, Betty Pendleton.
Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Shelby Morris Jarboe, sons, Robert Michael Jarboe and Timothy Wayne (Shannon) Jarboe, both of Owensboro, granddaughter, Courtney Jarboe of Olive Branch, MS, a great-granddaughter, Kloe Courtney, step-grandchildren, Chelsey Hastie and Cody Poole, and step-great-grandchildren, Geneva, Jaxon, and Addison Hastie, a sister, Shirley Tunstall of Corbin, KY and nephew, James Lee Jarboe of Owensboro.
Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Scott Ford officiating. Entombment will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Friday with Masonic Rites at 6 p.m., and after 9 a.m. Saturday.
