Robert Franklin "Bob" Holland, 77, of Paducah, passed away Friday, April 3, 2009 at the Hermitage Manor in Owensboro. Born May 28, 1931 in Eddyville, KY, he was the son of the late Rev. Arthur and Thelma Patton Holland; attended the University of Kentucky; was of the Baptist faith, and was a self-employed interior decorator in Owensboro and Western Kentucky for many years. He loved designing and decorating and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Harvey, James Arthur, and Browder Robbins Holland.
He is survived by sons, Stephen Dawson (Carol) Holland of Nashville and Robert McCarty Holland of St. Simons Island, GA; a grandson, Trevor McCarty Holland of St. Simon's Island, GA; a brother, Carl D. Holland of Champagne, IL; sisters, Elizabeth McCool of Owensboro, Margaret Stevens of Elizabethtown, Martha Sue Thomas of Mayfield, Carolyn Seward of Nashville, Evelyn Snider and Hilda Berryman of Louisville; a large number of nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Glenn Funeral Home followed by entombment in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Monday and after 12 noon on Tuesday at the funeral home.
