Ray Henson, 62, of Beaver Dam passed away Thursday, May 18, 2006 at his home following a short illness. Born in Leslie, West Virginia, Mr. Henson was the son of the late Seymore and Arminthia Redden Henson. He was of the Baptist faith; worked as a jockey driver for Perdue Farms; and was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the AMVETS, American Legion and enjoyed fishing and drag racing. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Hillerich , a brother, Kermit Henson and a sister, Ethel Huffman.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Carolyn Grimmett Henson; sons, Robert Ray (and his wife Tyra) Henson, Jr. of Tacoma, WA, Chris ( and his wife Robin) Berry of Beaver Dam, and James Sacerich of Gary, IN; daughters, Dawn ( and her husband Scott) Kimble of August, WV, Leslie ( and her husband Ryan) Groves of Winchester, VA, and Kimberly ( and her husband Greg) Upchurch of Hartford; 14 grandchildren; sisters, Opal ( and her husband Jim) Cavallero of Lodi, OH, Ann Helmick of Akron, OH, and Charlotte Spoden of Surprise, AZ; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are 1 P.M. Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam. There will be no visitation. Glenn Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
