Robert D. "Bob" Gillette

Robert D. "Bob" Gillette Jr., 88, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Hermitage Care and Rehab. He was born September 16, 1930 in Owensboro to the late Robert D. Gillette Sr. and Guyress Sellers Gillette. A 1949 graduate of OHS, Mr. Gillette later attended Purdue University. Bob was actively employed in the family business, Owensboro Plumbing and Heating, and later with Acme Plumbing and Heating until his retirement in 2000.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Gillette also was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Hettie Crockett Johnson Gillette in 2000.

Bob Gillette is survived by his two sons, Jack Gillette and his wife Elizabeth of Louisville, and Jeff Gillette and his wife Becky of Lewisport; four grandsons, Ezekiel Clay Gillette and William Crockett Gillette of Louisville and Jared Tyler Gillette and John Michael Gillette of Lewisport.

The family has chosen cremation with care provided by Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory followed by a private burial in Rosehill Cemetery.
