Sister Robert Angela Fleischmann, 94, an Ursuline Sister of Mount Saint Joseph, died June 22, 2003, at Mount Saint Joseph, in her 73rd year of religious life. Born in Poseyville, Ind., she grew up in Browns Valley, the daughter of Robert Joseph and Mary Ann Fischer Fleischmann.
An educator for 46 years, she taught at St. Elizabeth, Curdsville, 1938-39, St. Alphonsus, St. Joseph, 1955-59, St. Paul, Princeton, 1955, St. Romuald, Hardinsburg, 1976-78, and many other Kentucky schools. She worked in outreach ministry in Louisville for 14 years.
Survivors include one sister, Rita Fahrendorf, Owensboro; five brothers, Hubert Fleischmann, Kankakee, Ill., Urban Fleischmann, Union, Mo., Paul Fleischmann, Grass Valley, Calif., Melvin Fleischmann, Owensboro, and Brother Conrad Fleischmann of the Abbey of Gethsemani, Trappist, Ky.; nieces and nephews, and the members of her religious community.
The funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Saint Joseph, where visitation will begin Tuesday at 4 p.m., with a wake service following at 6:30 p.m. Glenn Funeral Home, Owensboro, is in charge of arrangements.
