Robert R. Drew

Robert R. "Bob" Drew, 86, of Owensboro, passed away October 25, 2014 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born August 4, 1928 in Ayer's Cliff, Quebec, Canada to the late Roland E. and Blanche Robinson Drew. He was retired after more than 30 years from Field Packing Co. as a trucking supervisor. Bob was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was a graduate of the St. John's Academy in Burlington, VT. After retiring from Field's, he became a greeter for eight years at Wal-Mart, which he enjoyed very much. In 1954, he became a naturalized U.S. citizen. He enjoyed reading Louis Lamour novels, playing cards, and especially loved all his dogs. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Theda Sandefur Drew in 1981, his second wife, Shirley Herbst Drew in 2011, a daughter, Linda Gayle Crawford in 1983, and two sisters, Jackie Drew and Helen Farr.

Surviving are a daughter, Sharon (George) Hagan of Owensboro, a son, James Daniel (Elin) Crawford of Blairsville, GA, stepchildren, Rusty (Becca) Reed, Rob Reed, and Tim Reed, all of California, six grandchildren, Tracie (Timmy) Aull of Owensboro, Alaina (Breck) Hudson of Sadler, TX, Charlie Crawford and Christopher Crawford, both of Illinois, Daniel Crawford of Washington, D.C., and Heather (Tony) Weaver of Georgia, 17 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, several step grandchildren and great grandchildren, and two sisters, Lois (Warren) Austin of Vermont and Marilyn (Bob) Farr of Florida.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 29, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be after 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be private in Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Cemetery in Elba.
