Robert N. Childs

Robert N. Childs, 80, of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday February 1, 2011 at his home. He was born on March 18, 1930 in Calhoun Co., AL to the late George T. and Dellie Bullock Childs. He was a member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class. He was retired from General Electric and M. P. D. after 38 years as a Production Foreman. Robert was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed working in his yard and was everyones handyman. He was a very loving Christian man who never met a stranger and he loved his family very much. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Mae Childs on November 18, 1999 and his son, Gary Childs in 2006.

Surviving are his daughter, Nancy Hufnagel and husband John of Owensboro, four grandchildren, Teresa Campbell and husband Jonathan of Owensboro, Brad Childs and wife Leslie of Owensboro, Ashley Childs of Beechmont, and Jason Childs of Owensboro, and a great grandchild, Haley Childs of Owensboro, a daughter-in-law, Susan Childs of Beechmont, and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Hollingsworth of Hendersonville, Nev.

Services will be 12 Noon Friday, February 4 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Yellow Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday and after 9:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
