Robert "Bob" Butler, 52, of Utica, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville, IN from injuries he received in an accident on Saturday in McLean Co., KY. He was born on August 19, 1961 in Blytheville, Ark. Bob was employed by Watts Bros. Cable Construction Co. He loved fishing, especially with his son Travis, reading crime stories and watching crime shows and movies. He also enjoyed drawing, listening to classical rock music, and spending time with his grandsons, Shane and Brayden. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles F. Butler in October of 1999.
Surviving are his mother, Lula "Lu" (Hugh) Barclay of Owensboro, four sons, Aaron Butler of Fayetteville, N.C., Travis (Ashley) Butler of Owensboro, Dakota Butler of Utica, and Julian Butler of Owensboro, two grandsons, Shane and Brayden Butler of Owensboro, his sister, Cindy (Tony) Newby of Utica, a niece, Jessica Newby of Utica, a nephew, Logan Newby of Bowling Green, five stepbrothers and sisters, Norman Barclay of Rockport, IN, Dawn (Dick) Smith of Rockport, Bill (Donna) Barclay of Richland, IN, Ray (Christina) Barclay of Mooresville, IN, and Jennie Bosse of Evansville, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Services will be 7:00 P.M. Thursday, September 12, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will begin at 4:00 P.M. Thursday until time of services.
