Robert F. Brumley

Robert F. Bob Brumley, 67, of 2914 Epworth Lane, Owensboro, died Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born May 8, 1936, to the late W. J. and Mary Elizabeth Newbolt Brumley in Daviess County. He served in the Army, Navy and retired from the Air Force; he had served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and was in the minuteman mission at Cape Canaveral. He attended the Southeast Baptist Church in Owensboro, was a member of the Hermosa Baptist Church in Albuquerque, NM, and was retired from Lipton Foods in the electrical maintenance department. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, dogs, doing lapidary research, and birdwatching.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, four sisters, and a great-granddaughter, Courtney Sumner, who died September 14, 2001.

Survivors include, his wife of 44 and years, Irene Miller Brumley; one son and his wife, Roger and (Amy) Brumley of Hartford; two daughters, Dottie Brumley and Beth Frey, both of Owensboro; eight grandchildren, Chanda and (Gary) Prater, Jr., Nick and Mary Elizabeth Frey, Marshall Shank, Savanna, Dustin, Sierra and Shaun Brumley; two great-granddaughters and one great-grandson; one sister, Irene Penick of Owensboro, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, March 6, 2004, at Glenn Funeral Home, with burial and military honors being held in Sunnydale Cemetery in Ohio County. Visitation will be 3:00 until 8:00 PM Friday, and after 8:30 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
