Robert "Joe" Booker

Robert “Joe” Booker, 86, of Philpot, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2024 at his home. He was born in Daviess County to the late Milburn J. and Mary E. Bumm Booker. 

 Mr. Booker worked as a bricklayer for several decades and was a member of the Local #4 BAC for 55 years. He also served in the Army Reserves for seven years. Robert enjoyed golfing, hunting and barbecues. He was a “desperate U.K. fan!”

 In addition to his parents, Mr. Booker was preceded in death by brothers, Gene Booker and Miburn Leon Booker; and his first wife, Rebecca Jo Booker in 1973.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Janis Logsdon Booker; children, Eric Booker (Fiance, Christina Blackman), Scott Booker, Rob Booker (Pam), Rhonda Head, David Booker (Jill); step-children, Tracey Hamilton and Bobby Joe Austin, Jr.; 13 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; siblings, Barbara Ann Coomes, Gerald Booker (Marie), Tony Booker (Lois) and Marie Bartlett (Mike); and many nieces and nephews.

  Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 26 from 3:00 until 7:00 PM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.The service will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 27 at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, St. Ann Chapel. The family requests that folks dress casually and welcomes U.K. attire!
