Robert (Bob) Louis Vollman, 89, of Owensboro, passed away Thursday July 4, 2019 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born September 6, 1929 in Owensboro, to the late Frank and Bertha Hagan Vollman. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed talking to people, he never met a stranger. Many may remember Bob from being the assistant Scout Master of two different troops for the Boy Scouts of America here in Owensboro, at Immaculate and Settle Memorial, for over 20 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War while serving in the United States Army. Bob worked in various positions at Whirlpool for 37 years, known as "Club", before retirement. He also enjoyed spending time going fishing.
Bob and his wife Mary were charter members of Immaculate Catholic Church where he was a member of the Men's Club and served as an usher for many years.
He also was preceded in death by his sisters, Rose Froehlich, Evelyn Gill and Jean Edwards; and his brothers, F.G. Vollman and Leo Vollman.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Mary Pearl Vollman; his two sons, Mike Vollman (Vickie) and Mark Vollman; and a granddaughter, Kristan Vollman Higgs (Richard).
The funeral Mass for Bob Vollman will be 10 AM, Monday at Immaculate Catholic Church with Father John Vaughan officiating. Visitation will be at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory from 2 until 6 PM Sunday, with prayers at 5:30 PM, and from 9 AM until time of Mass on Monday at the church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery with military honors.
