Robert L. Blandford, 76, of 2900 Paddock Place, Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born in Daviess Co., Ky. to the late James and Mary Verna Merimee Blandford. He was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral and was a retired clerk after 34 years with the U. S. Postal Service. He enjoyed walking, playing cards, and getting together with his fellow postal worker retirees. He was a very faithful caregiver his entire life always wanting to help people out. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Douglas and Joseph Blandford.
Surviving are three brothers, Bill Blandford, Jerry Blandford and wife Sue, and Bennie Blandford and wife Claudine, and a sister, June Johnson and husband Bill, all of Owensboro, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, October 27, at St. Stephen Cathedral with entombment following in Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 2:00-7:00 P.M. Sunday and after 8:30 A.M. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be at 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
