Robert Earl Benningfield

Robert Earl Benningfield, 64, of 2401 Friendship Dr., Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2007 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born in Daviess Co., Ky. to the late Roy & Lotus Hazelwood Benningfield, Sr. He was of the Baptist faith and was retired from Green Coal Co. as a truck driver after 30 years. He was one of the original 21 founding members of the Moseleyville Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting & fishing, particularly at Lake Barkley where he resided the past six years.. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and his faithful canine companion, Bones. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Roy Benningfield, Jr., William Benningfield, and Donald Benningfield.

Surviving are two sons and their wives, Mike & Debbie Benningfield and Tim & Debby Benningfield, all of Owensboro, a daughter and her husband, Mary & Pat Thompson of Owensboro, seven grandchildren, Joshua McBride, Johnothan Benningfield, Kimberly McBride, Ashlee Cox, Seth Dickens, Amelia Benningfield, and Brittany Dickens, two brothers and their wives, Jim & Debbie Benningfield of Owensboro and Jerry & Sharon Benningfield of Calhoun, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, March 7, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday.
