Robert L. Basham

Robert L. Basham, age 70, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 in Owensboro. Robert was born on July 25, 1941 to the late Lilburn and Willie Lee Basham.

Robert was a US Army veteran of the 82nd Airborne. He graduated from the first apprentice class of Millwright Local 1080 in 1969. He started working at Millwright Local 1080 in 1966 and retired in 1999. Robert was a former local 1080 President and also the Treasurer of AMVETS post 75. He was a member of First Christian Church, he enjoyed his grandchildren, UK sports, and golfing. He will be missed by all who knew him, and loving pets Rosie and Wheeler.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years of marriage, Marion ( Susie) Basham; a sister, Glenda ( Jack- deceased) Henry of Hartford KY; four children; Rob ( Jennie) Basham of Owensboro, Louis ( Vicki) Richardson of Lagrange KY, Kim ( Rodney) Revlett of Calhoun KY and Tina Taylor of Evansville IN. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00PM on Saturday, July 21, 2012 in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Friends may call to the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00AM until the time of service. Lanny Rideout will be officiating services. Interment to follow at Rosehill Cemetery. Contributions may be made the Hospice of Western Kentucky.
