Robert Allen Cooper

Robert Allen Cooper, 70, of Owensboro, passed away on Sunday January 26, 2025 at his home. He was born July 29, 1954 in Daviess County to the late John Eugene, Sr. and Sarah Ruth Main Cooper. Robert was a member of St. Pius Tenth Catholic Church where he was on the cooking team, the Bereavement Dinner Committee, and the Grounds Committee. Robert was retired from Big Rivers Electric as a production leader after 40 years of service. He was a volunteer fireman for the Thruston-Philpot Fire Department and past president of the Green River Fire Fighters Association. Robert was an avid U.K. basketball fan, enjoyed Nascar racing, playing cards with friends, and loved his dogs Colby and LeeLee. He was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Phil Hodges in 2019.

 Robert is survived by his wife of 50 years, Brenda R. Cooper; two sons, Jeffery “Jeff” Cooper and wife Nan of Beech Grove and Jonathon Michael Cooper and wife Rhea of Philpot; five grandchildren, Logan Michael Cooper and Hayden Michelle Cooper, both of Philpot, Taylor Baize (Dylan) of Mortons Gap, Hannah Higgins of Evansville, and Jillian Beeman (James) of Texas; three sisters and two brothers, Patricia Hodges and Jan Adams (Gary) of Owensboro, Ann Elder (Randy) of Texas, John Gene Cooper, Jr. (Linda) and Billy Cooper (Ruth Ann) all of Owensboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 The funeral Mass will be 2 PM Wednesday, January 29, at St. Pius Tenth Catholic Church with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 PM until 7 PM Tuesday with prayers at 6:30 PM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and from Noon until the time of the service Wednesday at St. Pius Tenth Catholic Church.
