Robert Clay Boarman 27 years old of Owensboro, KY died August 22, 2014 surrounded by family and friends at the Heartford House after a courageous 2+ year battle with cancer. Robert was born May 6, 1987 in Owensboro, KY to Yvonne (Bonnie) and Terence (Terry) Boarman.

Robby was preceded in death by his father, Terry Boarman and his grandparents, Hugh and Grace Boarman and Owen and Virginia Payneand an infant brother Thomas Gerard Boarman.

Robby is survived by his wonderful wife, Courtney Boarman and their young children Emma and Braylen. He is also survived by his mother, Bonnie (Bill) Lanham, in-laws Edward & Carol Miller, brother-n-law Colin Miller, his siblings Lee Boarman, Lori (Michael) Quinn, Billy (Amanda) Boarman, and Stefanie (Todd) Edge, his step-siblings Berry Lanham, Dwayne (Sonya) Lanham, Randy (Kristi) Lanham, Jeff (Janae) Lanham, Charla (Jamie) Coomes, Todd (Gina) Lanham, Clint (Amy) Lanham, and his nieces and nephews Brice Boarman, Ireland Quinn, Russell Boarman, Brady Boarman, Bailey Quinn, Gavin Edge, Hallie Boarman, Ethan Edge, Delaney Quinn, and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

While battling cancer, Robby accomplished his dream of obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Western Kentucky University jointly with University of Kentucky, where he was on the dean's list. Up until his diagnosis, he worked in the civil engineering lab at WKU and was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. He was appreciative of the 2013 WKU Engineering Program concrete canoe "Courageous" being named in his honor. He was of the Catholic faith and a member of Immaculate Parish. He was a proud 2005 graduate of Owensboro Catholic High where he was a member of the 2004 2A Football State Championship Runner-up Team and Team Captain. He was an avid Louisville Cardinal fan. Robby loved the outdoors, hunting, boating, golfing and spending time with his family and friends.

During Robby's last 2 years of life, he experienced extraordinary generosity and greatness from others. This community provided amazing support and kindness. He had true friends who rallied with him. Thank you to all who made this journey a little easier, especially the compassionate nursing staff at the Heartford House.

The funeral mass for Robby will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday and from 8:30 until 9:30 Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where prayers will be said at 7:00 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.


Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Robby Boarman Memorial Fund in care of Independence Bank.
