Rita Liggins Webster, 51, of 2546 Citation Avenue, Owensboro, died Thursday, June 13, 2002, at her home. Her mother, Motee Tootsie Deal Liggins preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 2001.
The Owensboro native was a graphic designer at the Messenger-Inquirer, a member of Fourth Street Baptist Church, she worked with youth programs at the church and at the Neblett Center, and enjoyed reading and gospel music.
Survivors include her husband of 14 years, Greg Webster, a daughter, Devon Webster of Owensboro, four brothers, Jesse Liggins, Jr. of Columbus, Ohio, Bruce Liggins of St. Louis, Gerry Liggins of San Diego, and William Liggins of Owensboro; five sisters, Ava Marie McFarland of Madisonville and Phyllis Samuels, Patricia Brown, Florence Black, and Viola Young, all of Owensboro; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and aunts and uncles.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Fourth Street Baptist Church with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday and after 10 a.m. Monday.
