Richie Hale James

Richie Hale James, 69, of Owensboro, passed away Monday December 23, 2024, at Chautauqua Health and Rehabilitation. He was born March 20, 1955, in Ohio County, to the late Leonard and Faye Brown Watson.

Richie loved the outdoors. Whether it be hunting, fishing, or camping, his favorite places to be were in the woods or on the lake. He was a big movie buff, and really enjoyed eating, especially homemade dishes brought to him. He also had a great sense of humor and loved to tease the ones he loved the most.

Richie had a motorcycle accident several years ago and even after this personal setback, Richie kept a great attitude towards life, always keeping a smile on his face, showing off by performing wheelies and doughnuts in his motorized chair and giving people personal rides, also serving on various boards for people with disabilities.

Along with his parents and stepmother, he is also preceded in death by a sister, Angie Ezell; and a brother, Jeff James.

Richie is survived by a daughter, Katherine “Katie” (Ben) Marks; grandchildren, Benjamin Marks III and Jacob Marks; sisters, Debbie Wilkins and Kathy James; a brother, James (Debbie) Watson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The memorial service for Richie James will be at 12 p.m. Friday December 27, 2024, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, where visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. till the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.
