Richard A. Spriggs

Richard A. Spriggs, 73, of 3707 Strike-The-Gold Ct., Owensboro, Ky., formerly of Leaf River, Il. passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2007 at his home. He was born in Rensselaer, In. to the late Otha and Lucy Walker Spriggs. He was retired from Hormel Foods Co. and also had worked as an assistant manager with the J. C. Penny Co. He was a member of Grace Methodist Church in Rockford, Il., the Lions Club in Leaf River and enjoyed his dogs, vegetable gardening, hunting, and fishing.. He was also a veteran of the U. S. Army.

Surviving is his wife of 41 years, Dorothy Spriggs, five children, Margaret Spriggs of Owensboro, Cindy May of Rensselaer, Rick Spriggs of Baltimore, Md., Deborah Angell and husband Dale of Normal, Il., and Linda Mesch and husband Mike of Bloomington, Il., five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a brother, Allen Spriggs and wife Mert of Wheatfield, In., and two sisters, Eva Hammond and husband Ray of Rensselaer and Ann Pluth of Marshal, Mn.

There will be no visitation or services. Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro is in charge of arrangements.
