Richard Stanley Russell

Mr. Richard Stanley Russell, Sr., 67, formerly of Owensboro, died Saturday, March 17, 2001 in the Metro General Hospital in Nashville, TN.

The Indianapolis native, was a member of Apollo Heights Baptist Church in Owensboro. He was retired as a Security Guard for the Vanderbilt Hotel and had worked as a bookkeeper for Lloyd's Mechanical Erection, Griffin Construction/Dynaelecetric in Owensboro. He had been involved with the Boy Scouts of America, and had been a Sunday School teacher and Deacon at Apollo Heights Baptist Church. He was a Kentucky Colonel and had lived in Indianapolis for 30 years, Owensboro for 15 and Beech Grove for 10.

Survivors include 2 sons: Richard S. Russell, Jr. of Vine Grove and Robert E. ''Bob'' Russell of Owensboro; 3 daughters: Rebecca A. Weikel of Owensboro, Cathy L. Fish of Portland, TN and Cynthia D. Monahan of Nashville; 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 1 brother: Robert S. Russell of Aurora, Co and 1 sister: Mae Nell Fosso of Indianapolis, IN.

Funeral services are 10 A.M., Wednesday, March 21, 2001 at the Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro with burial at Rosehill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 P.M. on Tuesday and after 8:30 A.M. on Wednesday.
