Richard Brock Melton

Mr. Richard Brock Melton, age 52, of 2019 West First Street, Owensboro, died Monday, March 31, 2003 at his home. A native of Lincoln Nebraska, he was a pipefitter in the construction industry, and a former resident of Wharton, Texas for 46 years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, a paramedic, and interested in geneology and Nascar. A son, Richard Brock Melton Jr., preceded him in death in 1980. His parents, Orval Richard and Prebble Lucille Chambliss Melton, also preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Mann Melton of Owensboro; three sons, Peter Joseph Melton, Matthew Louis Melton, and Russell Benjamin Melton, all of East Bernard, Texas; two step-sons, John T. Mann of Owensboro, and Michael A. Mann of Newart, California; two brothers, Harold V. Melton of Wharton, Texas, and John W. Melton of Marlin, Texas, and a sister, Leona P. Housos of Houston, Texas and three step-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held, 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2003 at Christ Chapel in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
