Richard T. “Rick” Isaacs, 72, of Owensboro, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away Monday, March 18, 2024, at his home, while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born September 25, 1951, in Cynthiana, KY, to the late Leonard Harrison Isaacs and Barbara Fern Jones Asher. He grew up in Ohio, and spent time in Marion, Illinois before returning to Kentucky in 1984.
A gifted “people person”, Rick’s working career centered around sales and ended in retirement with almost 30 years as a sales executive in the cable television industry. An avid golfer (especially with his close friends, Ron, John, Mike, and Danny) and an enthusiastic UK basketball fan, Rick loved to fish and also enjoyed many trips to the beach. However, his favorite leisure-time activity was spending time with his family.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Linda Isaacs Dutton.
Rick is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Pamela Powers Isaacs; a daughter, Amie Isaacs (Seth) Bell of Evansville, IN; son, Chris Isaacs of Owensboro; five grandchildren, Katie Isaacs, Chloe Murphy, Maddie Bell, Raylan Schwindel, and Sophia Bell; two sisters, Jody (Brent) Leiter of Cincinnati, OH and Kelly (Korge) Mori of Springfield, OH; also, several nieces and nephews.
The funeral Mass for Rick will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday March 21, 2024, at Blessed Mother Catholic Church with Father Mike Clark officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5 until 7 p.m. with prayers at 6:30 p.m. at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, and also on Thursday from 8:30 until 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Blessed Mother Catholic Church, 601 East 23rd Street, Owensboro, KY 42303.
