Richard E. Engelmeyer, 67, of Owensboro, died Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at his home. He was born October 1, 1942 to the late George and Florene Schnider Engelmeyer in St. Louis, MO. He was an electrical engineer, an Air Force Veteran, and was past president of the Owensboro Sportscar Club Association, and past president of the French Island Boat Club and Marina.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Engelmeyer in 2004.
Survivors include his son, Kenneth Engelmeyer of Evansville, IN, his daughter, Deborah Engelmeyer of Pt. Charlotte, FL; two step-sons, Robbie Holder of Owensboro and Ricky Holder of Spottsville, two step-daughters, B. J. Holder of Owensboro and Selina Holder of Spottsville; grandchildren, Skyler Engelmeyer, John Oller, Jr., James Oller and Felicia Oller; step-grandchildren, Jake, Cody, Jessie, Travis and Terry Holder; three great-grandchildren; his brother, Ken Engelmeyer of St. Louis, MO, his sister, Elaine Campbell of N.C.
Services will be 4:00 PM Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, with burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3:30 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
