Richard Darrell Brown, Sr.

Richard D. “R.D.” Brown, Sr. 75, of Owensboro, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2025 under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky. He was born January 12, 1950, in Owensboro, to the late Milner S. and Dorothy Richards Brown. Richard was a master class union pipefitter for 50 years, and a member of the Local #633. His work took him all over the country, but was especially proud of his last project, Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. “R.D.” enjoyed rock music and sports. He was a graduate of Daviess County High School where he also played football, celebrating a win against rival Owensboro High School his senior year.

Richard is survived by his son, Richard D. “Rick” Brown, Jr. (Tricia Peters); two grandchildren, Jess McDole (Matt), and Cheyenne Stewart (Carmon); three great-grandchildren, Addie, Sophie, and Silas; a brother, Gary Brown (Deanna Estes) and his former wife and mother of their son, Judy Brown.

The funeral service for Mr. Brown will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 21, 2025 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be held on the same day from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
