Richard Baird

Richard Baird, 64, of 11200 Mill Street, Utica, Kentucky, died Tuesday, October 30, 2001 at Owensboro Mercy Health System. He was born October 27, 1937 in Daviess County, Kentucky the son of the late Eddie Louis and Josephine Shocklee Baird.

Mr. Baird retired after 23 years as a Lockman with the Army Corps of Engineers. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and the Oblate of the Passion and Army of Mary.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Wilma Hagan Baird; five sons, Rick Baird, Eddie Hinton, and Lloyd Hinton, all of Owensboro; Robin Hinton of Lexington; and Lonnie Hinton of Vienna, IL; three daughters, Donna Duffy and Lavida Matthews, both of Owensboro; and Cindy Searcy of Calhoun; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one sister, Ouida Troutman of Utica.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 1, 2001 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, officiated by Father John Meredith. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. His family will receive friends at Glenn Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2001 and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday. The Rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday followed by Parish Prayers at 7:00 p.m.
