Rex D. Huff, 71, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation - Hillcrest. Born in Hancock County, for many years he owned and operated an oil field services company and later worked for Tyson foods. Rex enjoyed University of Kentucky basketball and Cincinnati Reds baseball.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Rosa Boling Huff, brothers; William "Pratt" Huff and Bobby Huff, a sister, Julia "Tine" Huff, and grandson Joseph Sowders.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Huff; his son Edsel (Rene) Huff of Reynolds Station; his daughters Bonnie Miller of Fordsville, and Sherry Sowders, Pam (Mike) Tooley, and Suzy (David) Madewell, all of Owensboro; 19 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren; and his sisters Jean Baird of Pleasant Ridge, Marie Phillips of Hawesville, and Phyllis (Dwight) Vaughan of Hartford, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, where visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, and after 8:30 Saturday. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
