Renetta Carpenter

Renetta Carpenter, 92, of Masonville, came to the end of life's journey and went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born November 27, 1924 in Daviess County to the late Marvin and Martha Weatherford Sutherlin.

Renetta was an active and lifetime member of Sugar Grove Baptist Church where she enjoyed the fellowship of a special church family. She retired from Modern Employee Credit Union after many years of service and was previously employed by Westinghouse.

Renetta was preceded in death by her husband of more than thirty years, Frank Carpenter, in 1991; a daughter, Dana Carpenter; a twin sister, Jenetta McBrayer; and a brother, Marvin Edward Sutherlin.

She is survived by sons, James Dennis Carpenter and Dean Lee Carpenter both of Masonville; brother-in-law, Shelby McBrayer; a sister-in-law, Audrey Sutherlin; grandchildren, Denise Carpenter Kusiner, Drew Carpenter, Devin Carpenter, Derrick Carpenter, Courtney Carpenter and Collin Carpenter; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be 12 PM Saturday, January 21 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Dr. Allen Shouse will officiate. Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 2 until 8 PM and Saturday after 10 AM at the funeral home.
