Rena Strader Roark

Rena Roark, 88, of Owensboro, passed away January 9, 2016. Mrs. Roark was born March 7, 1927 in Muhlenberg County to the late Lonnie and Wilma Strader. Mrs. Roark retired from Owensboro Daviess County Hospital after 27 years as the Supervisor of Admissions. She attended Graham High School and was a long standing member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

Mrs. Roark was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Al Roark, in 2005; seven brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include her son, Terry Roark and his wife, Mary Lee, of Owensboro; daughters, Patricia Cox and her fiancé Jim Fletcher of Owensboro and Kathleen Hardin and her husband, Rob, of Franklin, TN; grandchildren, Kevin Roark and his wife Jessica, Angela Madej and her husband Matt, Carol Ware, Caryn Cox, John Cox and his wife Laura, Robert Allen Hardin and his fiancé Ari Oishi, Rachel Valovich and her husband David; sister, Virginia "Jenny" Towery and her husband Jack; and eleven great grandchildren.

The service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 12 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Franklin Skaggs and Rev. Doug Strader officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 Monday and from 9:00 am Tuesday till time of service. Entombment will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
