Rebecca J. Newman

Rebecca J. (Kuegel) Newman, 87, of Owensboro died on Friday, July 26, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Daviess County to the late Martin Michael and Cecil Kuegel.

Mrs. Newman was a member of Bethabara Baptist Church for over 60 years. She was dedicated to her church and family.

Preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Claude Newman, Sr. in 2005 and brothers, James, Robert and Jan Kuegel.

She is survived by sons, Claude B. Newman, Jr. (Anita) of Philpot and Michael Lee Newman (Marsha) of Beaver Dam; grandchildren, Carrie Munsey (Donnie), Molly Roberts (Gavin), Shack Newman (Heather), Missy Reynolds (Richie), Michael Newman, Jr. (Kelly); 13 great grandchildren; brothers, Bill Kuegel and John Kuegel, both of Owensboro; six sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews; her church family; and many friends, including Park Regency residents.

The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, July 29 at Bethabara Baptist Church, 2946 Highway 142 in Philpot. Dr. Herschel D. Morgan and Bro.Gerald Peeples will officiate. Burial will be at Bethabara Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 PM until 5 PM on Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and after 9:30 on Monday at the church.
