Rebecca Ann Hart

Rebecca Ann Hart, 58, of Newburgh, IN passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2010, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh. She was born on November 4, 1951 in Evansville to the late John and Mary Charlene Hamilton Richard. She was of the Catholic faith and had been a Registered Nurse for 35 years. She graduated from the Deaconess School of Nursing in the early 70's. She began her nursing career at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Ky. and then came to St. Mary's in Evansville where she worked in the Intensive Care Unit for about 15 years. Then she went to Health South and Rehabilitation Hospital in Evansville for the next 12 years and then spent the last two years in the I.C.U. at Deaconess Hospital working alongside her daughter, who is also an R. N. She was a friend of Bill W. in Evansville for about 14 years. She enjoyed traveling, vacationing, and spending time with her family especially her two grandsons. She was also preceded in death by her ex-husband, Jan Michael Hart on June 15, 2001 and her sister, Susan Richard Lee on June 11, 2006.

Surviving are a son, Matthew Hart of Owensboro, a daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Hart of Evansville, a stepdaughter, Ashley Bailey and a stepson, Jared Bailey, both of Evansville, two grandsons, Brennon and Keylan Robb, both of Evansville, two brothers, Samuel Hamilton Richard and wife Carol of Owensboro and John Paul Richard and wife Julie of Ft. Wayne, IN, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 20, at Immaculate Catholic Church with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday and after 9:00 A.M. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Prayers will be 7:30 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
