Rebecca A. Dixon

February 23, 1942 — February 11, 2016

Rebecca (Becky) Dixon, 73, passed away in the loving arms of Christ Thursday, February, 11, 2016 at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis, IN. She was born December 23, 1942 in Birmingham, AL to the late Bill and Winnie Paschal. She was reared along with her sister, Tricia, in Owensboro and graduated from Owensboro High, also attending Western Kentucky University and Brecia College. She enjoyed sojourns in New York City and Philadelphia before returning home, where she married John B. Dixon in 1966. They made homes at Fort Bragg, NC, Augsburg, Germany, Fort Dix, NJ and Fort Harrison, IN, where they settled nearby to raise their family after his retirement from the U.S. Army.

She was a stay-at-home mom, a classroom aid at Heather Hills Elementary, a long-time member and committee participant at Old Bethel United Methodist Church, and helped with her daughter's Brownie Troop and her son's Cub Scout Pack. She loved to read, watch late-night TV, and travel to family reunions. She documented every life event and site along the way with her trusty Kodak Instamatic and a limitless supply of flashcubes.

Becky is survived by her husband, John, of Indianapolis; son, Chris, his wife, Betsy, and their son, Logan, of Asheville, NC; her daughter, Amy, of Atlanta, GA; and her sister, Tricia Ford and her husband, Gerry, of Utica, KY. She was the proud aunt to her sister's children: Mark, Kevin, and Beth. She was an enthusiastic great-aunt of all of their children: Avery, Bryce, Easton, Hallie, Hudson, Kylie, and Tyler.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Steve Cripps of Bridge Pointe Church, officiating. Valentine's Day would have marked her 50th wedding anniversary.

Expressions of sympathy can be made to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org. She was a 50 year survivor of diabetes.
