Reban R. "Bud" Boone

Reban R. “Bud” Boone, 83, of Madisonville formerly of Owensboro passed away Friday, July 12, 2024, at his home with his family by his side. The Daviess County native was born October 1, 1940, as one of eight children to the late Bernard Hazel Boone and Ona C. Davis Boone. First and foremost, Bud was devoted and passionate about his faith and family. During his long battle with COPD, his constant encouragement to his family was “everything is going to be alright”. Bud worked in the glass business for 47 years and was the owner of Bud’s Glass Service for 26 years before retiring in 2003. He was always laughing and often breaking out in a gospel song without notice. Bud was always staying busy on his farm, once raising cattle, and enjoyed hunting deer and coons. 

 In addition to his parents, Bud also was preceded in death by a son, Bernard Ray Boone in 1959 and five of his siblings. 

 Those left to cherish his memory include his devoted wife of 66 years, Sharon; four children, Allen Roberson (Judy) of Whitesville, Nathanael Boone (Leesa), Sherrie Kessinger (Tom), and Reban Dewayne Boone all of Madisonville; twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; two brothers, Jackie Boone (Linda) and James Boone (Phyllis); sister, Linda Finley (Larry); a whole slew of nieces and nephews. 

 The funeral service will be 4:00 pm Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with same day visitation from 2:00 pm until the time of the service. A private burial will be in Bells Run Cemetery.
