R.C. Cooney Jr.

R.C. Cooney Jr., 72, of Owensboro, passed away August 26, 2024. He was born April 21, 1952 in Owensboro to R.C. Cooney Sr. and Mary Douglas Cooney. R.C. was a Produce Manager at Wyndall’s Foodland in Owensboro, where he retired after fifty-three years. He was a fan of U.K. basketball, the Atlanta Braves, enjoyed visiting the casinos, and watching anything on T.V. R.C. also loved Friday night pizza. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Hunter Ford Jackson, and the mother of his children, Mary A. Cooney.

R.C. is survived by his siblings, Linda Moseley, William (Cathy) Cooney, Geary (Debbie) Cooney Sr., and Janice Cooney; daughter, Helen (Wayne) Stewart; son, Terry (Jill) Cooney and grandchildren, Easton and Hayden.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with prayers at 6:00 p.m. All other services will be private. Burial will take place at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
