R.C. Cooney

R.C. Cooney, Sr., 81, of Owensboro, Kentucky, died Sunday, July 11, 2010, at his residence. He was born in Daviess County, Kentucky to the late Frank and Gertie Hohimer Cooney on January 17, 1929. R.C. was a mechanic, enjoyed gardening and woodworking and was the owner of R.C's Bicycle Shop. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ethel Cooney and his brother, Edward Cooney.

Survivors include his children, Linda Moseley, R.C. Cooney, Jr., William Cooney, Geary (Bubba) Cooney, Sr. and his wife Debbie, and Janice Cooney; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and his cat, Smokey.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday and after 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
