Raymond J. Schrecker, 85, of Philpot passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017 at his home. Mr. Schrecker was born in Daviess County, KY, a son of the late Herman and Lottie Page Schrecker. He spent a lifetime in agriculture, retiring from Owensboro Grain in 1988 and raising tobacco and vegetables. Mr. Schrecker was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the 101st Airborne during the Korean conflict and was a member of St. William Catholic Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers William A. "Cotton" Schrecker, William B. "Buddy" Schrecker, Jimmy Schrecker, George Schrecker, Paul Schrecker, Herman Schrecker, Stewart Schrecker, and his sister Maureen Elliot.
Mr. Schrecker is survived by his wife, Ethel Sanders Schrecker; his daughters Angela Schrecker, Janet Foster (Gary), and Pam Payne (Chris); his sons Joe Schrecker (Rebecca) and Patrick Schrecker, all of Owensboro; his grandchildren Cassie Gregg, Devin Foster, Lucas Payne, Andrea Schrecker, and Andrew Schrecker; his great-grandchild Hayden Gregg; and his sisters Marie Hester, Margie Howard, Katherine Karn, and Lucille Contarino.
The funeral Mass for Mr. Schrecker will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church where the family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church Cemetery.
