Raymond Lee McConnell, 88, of Owensboro, passed away March 2, 2009, in Canton, Georgia. Born August 22, 1920 at Broadway, Kentucky, he was an Army veteran of WWII and a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, local 181. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Alice King McConnell in 1987.
Mr. McConnell is survived by two daughters, Junella Lynn and Sheila McConnell of Atlanta, Georgia; two sisters, Marguerite Dunn of Detroit, Michigan and Emma Louise Key of Rockport, Kentucky. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Glenn Funeral Home on Saturday, March 7, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. followed by a graveside service in Christ Chapel, Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
