Raymond A. Flener

Raymond A. Flener, 81, of Owensboro, died Monday, June 23, 2008, at the Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born August 1, 1926 to the late Walter and Evelyn Cardwell Flener in Butler County. He was a member of Breckenridge Street United Methodist Church, and an Army Veteran of WW II. He retired after 25 years of service from W.R. Grace and he and his wife spent a lot of time working with crafts.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Thelma Kassinger Flener; his son, Donald Ray Flener and his wife, Jenny of Owensboro, his daughter, Rebecca Alsup of Owensboro; six grandchildren, Brad Flener and his wife, Carolyn, Jason Alsup and his wife, Carol, Scott Alsup and his wife, Nikki, Tracy Flener, Jackie Moorman and Jimmy Moorman; five great-grandchildren, Zoe, Haley, Trent, Trevor Alsup and Trey Moorman; a sister, Dalma Pugh of Henderson.

Services will be 12:00 PM Thursday, at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday and after 9:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home.
