Raymond Harold Bratcher, 77, of Philpot died on August 23, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Philpot to the late Roy and Ruby Bratcher and graduated from Daviess County High in 1954.
Raymond retired from Alcoa-Warrick Operations in 1998 after 33 years of service as a heavy equipment operator. He was focused on strengthening his faith and serving his church, Friendship Baptist Church.
Raymond also enjoyed cattle farming.
He was preceded in death by a sister and 3 brothers.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 56 years, Florence Bratcher; sons, Rory Bratcher (Joy) of Utica, Jeff Bratcher (Angie) of Philpot and Perry Bratcher of Florence, KY; grandchildren, Leah Smith of Owensboro, Luke, Kara and Wade Bratcher, all of Utica, Nick Selby (Erica) of Philpot and Kalib Selby (Katie) of Owensboro; great grandchildren, Lexie Smith, Liam Creek, River and Karlee Selby; brothers, Edwin and Charlie Bratcher; and nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be at 10 AM on Monday, August 26 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
Rev. Brian Roberts will officiate and burial will be at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-6 PM and Monday after 9 AM at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Friendship Baptist Church Building Fund.
