Ray Tom Rhoads, Owensboro, died Friday, June 23, 2006, at Wellington Parc. He was born August 26, 1920, to the late Ilif Latney and Altha Belle Kelly Rhoads in Ohio County. He was a Army Veteran of WW II, a member of Third Baptist Church for 40 years and was active in the Berean-Baraca Sunday School Class. He was a used car manager for Don Moore Chevrolet for 30 years, liked to joke with everyone, loved his granddogs and being around children, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jack Rhoads on May 6, 1991, and a brother, Kelly Rhoads.
Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Mary Lou Harrison Rhoads; a son, Larry Rhoads and his wife, Sherry of Owensboro, a daughter-in-law, Karen Rhoads Anderson and her husband, Dr. Jim Anderson of Owensboro; two grandchildren, Tommy Rhoads, Stacy Rhoads Castlen and her husband, Chris; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; his brother, Billy Rhoads of Reynolds Station.
Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 until 6:00 PM Sunday and after 9:00 Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 550 South First Street, Louisville, KY, 40202.
