Randy Scott Rickard, 68, of Utica, went to be with the Lord on January 18, 2026. He was born in Owensboro on August 21, 1957, to the late Myron and Norma Scott Rickard.
Randy was a graduate of Daviess County High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army following graduation. After his military service, he worked as a mechanic for Accuride for 15 years. He later joined Homes by Benny Clark, where he served as a supervisor and job site coordinator. Randy truly loved his work there and considered his coworkers family.
A devoted sports fan, Randy was an avid supporter of UK Basketball and enjoyed watching NASCAR. Above all else, Randy cherished his family. He was deeply involved in his children’s lives and their activities, a love that extended fully to his grandchildren. He rarely missed an opportunity to attend their sporting events and took great pride in cheering them on.
Randy also loved to cook, especially for his beloved wife, Sherry, whom he adored. Sherry often told her children that Randy loved her like no one else, steadfastly and devotedly, and encouraged them always to seek a love as true as the one they shared. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard “Dick” Rickard, Barney Rickard, and Jack Rickard.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife Sherry Rickard; children, Amanda Alvey, Jackson Rickard, Jeff Rickard, Kaley Hiland (Zach), Alyssa Wilde (James), and Cody Davidson; grandchildren, Kendra, Cameron, Karleigh, Lyla, Violet, Olivia, Brinlee, EJ, Wyatt, and Hallie; and our chosen family, Benny and Paula Clark.
The funeral service for Randy will be held at 9:30 am Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday and after 8:30 am on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Those attending are encouraged to come as they are or wear their favorite jeans or UK sweatshirt, as Randy would have loved to look down upon a sea of blue.
